About Rebecca
Self-Development Coach, Writer, Blogger, and the woman behind Soft Armor.

My Story
My identity was forged in fire. I navigated a childhood defined by unpredictable rage and financial chaos, which led me to leave home and seek self-reliance at 14. With raw determination, I started life over in Houston at 19 with nothing — transitioning from homelessness and odd jobs to working for Fortune 100 firms before pivoting into Real Estate and entrepreneurship.
I built my early life on sheer tenacity, but my true character was built on heart. Through the daily challenges of raising a son with Autism, integrating into new communities repeatedly, and the ultimate act of love — taking in four children after their parents passed from cancer — I have found that life's greatest value is rooted in an unbreakable spirit and radical compassion.
My 32-year+ marriage and my journey prove that true actualization is the product of experience and education. Tenacity defines the way to live, but when heart gets involved, that's when it gets good.
I created Soft Armor because I needed it myself — and because I've watched too many strong, capable people crumble under the weight of lives they never consciously chose. The work we do here is not about becoming someone new. It's about becoming more fully, more courageously, more compassionately yourself.
Strong enough to love. That's the goal. That's always been the goal.
Tenacity defines the way to live, but when heart gets involved, that's when it gets good.
Life & Experience
Coaching Philosophy
Every program, every conversation, every piece of content I create is built on one foundational belief: you already have everything you need. The work is not about adding more — it's about excavating what's already there, releasing what's blocking it, and learning to trust what you find.
The Mindfulness Foundation
Mindfulness therapy is not about emptying your mind or achieving a state of permanent peace. It's about developing the capacity to be present with whatever is — including the hard things — without being destroyed by them. It's the foundation of everything we build here.
The Authenticity Imperative
Authenticity is not a personality trait — it's a daily practice. It requires honesty about who you are, courage to live accordingly, and the compassion to forgive yourself when you fall short. It is the most demanding and most rewarding work a human being can do.
Character Over Comfort
Growth happens at the edge of comfort, not in the center of it. My programs are not designed to make you feel good — they're designed to make you good. The feeling follows the work, not the other way around.
Love as the Goal
Everything we do here is ultimately in service of one thing: becoming capable of deep, lasting love — for yourself, for others, for life itself. Love is not the starting point. It's the destination. And the path there runs straight through the center of who you really are.
Core Values
Radical Honesty
Truth-telling as the foundation of all growth — with yourself first, then with others.
Compassionate Strength
The belief that softness and strength are not opposites — they are partners.
Intentional Living
Every day is a choice. Every choice is a practice. Every practice builds character.
Community & Love
We are not meant to grow alone. Connection is both the goal and the method.
